Director of Photography Services
Experienced DPs for film, TV, commercials, and documentaries throughout Poland.
Here is how this works in practice. A Director of Photography shapes the visual narrative of a production through creative decisions about lighting, camera movement, lens selection, and composition. Poland's distinguished cinematographic tradition — rooted in the Polish Film School movement and home to acclaimed DPs like Slawomir Idziak PSC and Łukasz Żal PSC — continues to produce top-tier visual storytellers, supported by modern studio infrastructure at Alvernia Studios and Podhalańska.
Here is the short of it. We connect you with skilled Directors of Photography who know both the creative and practical demands of your production. Whether you are shooting at Alvernia Studios near Kraków or on location in Warsaw's old town, our team matches your project with DPs who bring the right visual sensibility, supported by the Polish Film Institute's 30% cash rebates incentive.

On Location
Poland's cinematography heritage is among the most decorated in world cinema, anchored by EnergaCAMERIMAGE in Toruń, the National Film School in Łódź, and Oscar-winning DPs such as Janusz Kamiński and Paweł Edelman.
Here is how this works in practice. We give Directors of Photography drawn from one of the deepest cinematography talent pools in Europe. Poland's reputation in the discipline is not incidental: EnergaCAMERIMAGE, held annually in Toruń, is the world's foremost festival dedicated to the art of cinematography, drawing the top DPs on the planet, and the National Film School in Łódź (PWSFTviT) has trained generations of camera artists.
Here is the short of it. Our DPs work fluently across ARRI Alexa, RED, and Sony Venice systems, and work with closely with directors on lighting design, lens selection, and camera movement from pre-production tech scouts onward. Whether your shoot is a feature on the reconstructed Old Town of Warsaw, a commercial inside ATM Studio, or a documentary across the Tatra Mountains, our team matches the DP to the visual language of the project, supplying full camera departments, focus pullers, and operators alongside the head of department so the production runs without friction.
Here is the breakdown. Poland's standing in cinematography is best measured by its credits. Janusz Kamiński, Steven Spielberg's regular DP, won the Best Cinematography Oscar for 'Schindler's List' and again for 'Saving Private Ryan'. Paweł Edelman earned a nomination for Roman Polański's 'The Pianist', shot in Warsaw. Sławomir Idziak photographed 'Black Hawk Down' and Kieślowski's 'Three Colours: Blue'. And Łukasz Żal received two Best Cinematography nominations for 'Ida' and 'Cold War', followed by 'The Zone of Interest'.
Here is what that looks like on the ground. Productions hiring a Polish DP also gain from the 30% cash rebates administered by the Polish Film Institute (PISF) on qualifying spend, alongside support from Film Commission Poland and roughly sixteen regional film commissions. We set up work permits for global DPs, advise on the złoty and 23% VAT, and make sure the camera department is fully insured and contracted to local standards.
FAQ
Our DP Network
What experience levels of DPs do you provide?
Here is the breakdown. We give DPs across all experience levels: emerging cinematographers for indie and low-budget projects, mid-level DPs with solid commercial and documentary credits, and senior DPs with feature film and global broadcast experience. We match experience to your budget and project needs.
How do you match DPs to projects?
We review your creative brief, reference materials, and budget to shortlist DPs with relevant genre experience and aesthetic alignment. You receive curated showreels and can request direct conversations with candidates before booking.
What camera systems do your DPs work with?
Here is what that looks like on the ground. Our DPs are proficient across all major cinema camera systems including ARRI Alexa, RED, Sony Venice, Blackmagic, and Canon cinema lines. Many specialize in specific systems but all are adaptable to production needs and rental availability.
Do DPs come with their own equipment?
Some owner-operator DPs bring personal camera packages, while others work with rented gear. We set up gear sourcing based on your preference and budget, whether through DP-owned gear, rental houses, or production-given gear.
Can you provide international DPs for shoots in Poland?
Yes. We can source global DPs for shoots in Poland, handling work permits and logistics. We also give Polish DPs for global shoots needing local cinematography talent abroad.
What's included in DP day rates?
Standard DP day rates cover on-set cinematography services during production hours. Pre-production work (tech scouts, shot listing, meetings) is mostly billed separately. Gear, camera assistants, and late hours are extra based on project scope.
